Vince Ripper is a professional musician and published songwriter. He plays guitar, harmonica, mandolin, bouzouki, sings a bit, and is teaching himself piano. He spends most of his creative time writing and producing songs for the fantastic female rock artist XOCH. As a fun side-project Vince is also the co-lead singer/acoustic guitarist of a Johnny Cash/June Carter tribute band called “JACKSON: The Very Best of Johnny & June”.
Original music project –
XOCH has received critical acclaim from all over the world. Xoch and Vince have had nearly 60 major licenses of their original music to the likes of ABC, MTV, VH1, Lifetime, Toyota, Jeep/Eagle, Warren Miller, and many more. XOCH has released 4 CD’s to date, including “Hollywood”, “popcore du jour, “Cabaret”, and “The ONE”.
XOCH has performed on some of the most famous venues on both sides of the USA, and they have shared the stage with such national acts as Evanescence, Joan Osbourne, Pat Benatar, Spin Doctors, Lit, Butch Walker, and many others.
Although he plays a wide variety of electric guitars, Vince Ripper plays exclusively GIBSON acoustic guitars, and is a member of the GIBSON Artist Program. Vince has spent a lot of time in the music studio, including recording a harmonica piece for a Macy’s TV and radio commercial. He’s done extras work on some feature films (“Get Him to the Greek”, “Swallow the Sun”) as well as some TV background work. In late 2011, Vince was a principal performer in a feature film called “Electrick Children” in which he played the part of Johnny Cash, performed a song live on camera (“Wreck of the Old ’97″) and had a one-on-one scene with the lead actor. Vince has written, performed and produced music for many years and has played in bands, both cover and original, for most of his life.
Vince Ripper wrote and recorded his first original song in 1992. His first excursion into an original music band was in 1994 with a solo project called “Ripper’s Mojo”. From 1994 to 1996 he was in a great and silly original punk band called “monkeyboyz”, from 1996 to 2002 he was in a band called “the Fuzzies”, and since 2002 to infinity – it’s all about XOCH.
